A man has been left fighting for his life after an incident took place in Darlaston. Paramedics were called to the scene on Richards Street at 8.22pm on Tuesday, November 22.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said crews found a man with 'critical injuries' and he was given 'advanced trauma care' before being rushed to hospital. WMAS sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic to the scene.

It is not yet clear how the man came about his injuries. Social media users reported an incident taking place near Darlaston Swimming Pool. West Midlands Police has also been approached for comment.

A WMAS spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident on Richards Street in Darlaston, Wednesbury at 8.22pm. An ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic were sent to the scene with the first resources arriving in six minutes.

"On arrival, crews found a man with critical injuries and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced trauma care before he was conveyed to hospital for further treatment."
