I tried the £90 ASOS Advent Calendar and one item made me stop in my tracks

When I look to stock up on my favourite beauty and skincare products, I must admit ASOS isn't normally where I turn to. I head to ASOS when I desperately need a new pair of jeans, or a cute top or dress for that upcoming night out.

On a recent website browse (I was indeed after a new pair of jeans), I was shocked to discover how many popular brands and products ASOS sell in their Face and Body range. I'm talking The Ordinary, Pixi, Charlotte Tilbury, Too Faced, Huda Beauty, MAC, Estee Lauder, Elemis and more.

You name it, they've probably got it. So when ASOS got in touch to offer me their Face and Body Advent Calendar for 2023, it was an immediate yes.

With the amount of brands I'd found online - I couldn't wait to have a look inside. The ASOS Face and Body Advent Calendar costs £90 and the retailer says it offers shoppers a 77 per cent saving.

Filled with big name brands, which altogether are worth almost £400 - it offers a saving of more than £300. Behind each door is a whole host of popular skincare and beauty items, including Charlotte Tilbury, Elemis and Sol de Janeiro.

The Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow palette hidden behind number 25 is worth £45 alone. While the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is £37, and the Neom travel candle is £19.

A product description on ASOS' website says: "The perfect gift does exist. Contains 25 product, includes a mixture of beauty, skincare and body care."

The ASOS advent calendar opens up like a jewellery box with bright and bold boxes inside

The outer packaging is very simple - with a large black box, with white writing. But the inside is when it gets exciting - with a burst of bright colours. The 25 individual boxes of all shapes and sizes are bold and beautiful colours - pinks, purples, blues, greens and yellows. It looks like a rainbow.

The top layer opens up like a box, with some of the doors hidden under others. While the bottom layer pulls out like a jewellery box drawer. But it all folds back together neatly so you can display it on your dressing table before Christmas.

First up, and how can I not mention the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Dreams Luxury Palette. Just wow - I was blown away at the fact this was included - as it retails for £45. It contains four beautiful shades including beige pink, rose gold, blush and tawny brown - perfect for creating a subtle pop of colour to the eye. It's definitely luxury and I'll be reaching for it to match my Pillow Talk Lipstick.

I was recently introduced to This Works thanks to the M&S Beauty Advent Calendar which featured the Deep Sleep Body Cocoon which has become part of my nightly routine now. So when I found the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray I couldn't wait to put it to the test. A few sprays on my pillow at night and it has helped with those sleepless nights dreading the early, dark and cold mornings of winter. Result!

My top five products inside the ASOS Face and Body Advent Calendar

While the Iconic London Mini Illuminator Original is only a small bottle - a little goes a long way! I've been using a few drops of this for those no make-up days and it adds a healthy glow and shine to my skin. Perfect for the next few months as my skin can often look dull and tired when the temperatures drop. I'm looking forward to using it in the run-up to Christmas for the ultimate shimmery glow!

Next up is the Malin + Goetz Lip Moisturiser, which retails for £13. I suffer terribly with dry and chapped lips in the winter, no matter what I do. So as we head into the chillier months I'm excited to continue using this. I've been popping it on before bed and I can already see it's made a difference.

And last, but my by no means least, the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. This little gem became my holy grail during lockdown to deeply condition my locks as I went weeks without a hair cut. It really helped revive my hair without looking to limp and lifeless. It doesn't feel heavy on the hair and gives your Barnet a healthy shine.

I was really impressed with the ASOS Face and Body Advent Calendar - and I agree with ASOS when they say it is 'the perfect gift'. There isn't an item in here I wouldn't use - even if I had to research what a Gua Sha was.

It's great value for money and is certainly one I would pay the price for! It's also opened up my eyes to ASOS being a go-to website for all my beauty and skincare needs! Well done ASOS.
