A famous Midland Christmas market described as 'warm-hearted' and 'fantastic' by shoppers is returning among its historic cobbled streets. Worcester's traditional Victorian Fayre is one of the UK festive market highlights in a city that was much-loved by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Unlike many similar Christmas events, Worcestershire's seasonal food and drink extravaganza only takes place over one long weekend. Dates and times for the Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre can be found here.

The 200 stalls will be based around Worcester's historic alleyways including New Street, Friar Street, Pump Street, High Street, the Cornmarket and Cathedral Square.

The 2023 Christmas Fayre takes place from Thursday November 30 to Sunday December 3. See the full opening hours for each day listed below.

There will also be a street market and shopping at the Angel Place market. Crowngate Shopping Centre stores are also at hand for Christmas shopping.

A traditional carousel is a favourite with families that glows bright in the night sky.

Visitors browse for gifts, food and drink in the shadow of the stunning Worcester Cathedral, which is popular with the Royal family and was close to the Queen's heart.

Queen Elizabeth made several visits to Worcester during her reign including in 1951, 2001 and 2012. The city has long been known as a 'Royalist' enclave, going back to the Civil War when it was their battle headquarters against the Parliamentarians.
